We have rejected as much as 20% of the slate delivered on one job. If this procedure is not followed, the slate would be installed and after a few years and/or a few harsh storms, the slate would eventually crack and fall from the roof. This type of failure exposes your home to the weather and potentially endangers the people or property below.

We order from the country's most reputable slate quarries. This guarantees that your slate roof will be S1 quality lasting 100 years or more compared to S3 grade slate lasting only 45 years or less. The enduring nature of slate requires that the nails and flashing be of equal quality. That's why we use only copper nails and flashing to secure your slate roof. Anything less will deteriorate before the slate will, causing leaking and slippage.
